A public notice saying a department intends to award a contract, giving other suppliers a window to say they could do the work too.
Where you’ll see it
Procurement. Often used where a department believes only one supplier can meet the need.
Example
“The NIT closes Friday.”
Friday is the last day another supplier can challenge the plan to award it directly.
